Sam Smith - I'm Not the Only One

The talented crooner is here to stay

"I'm Not the Only One" is the fourth single taken off from the #1 platinum selling debut album 'In the Lonely Hour' by Sam Smith. The song was written by Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes, produced by the latter and Steve Fitzmaurice, it is a pop track influenced by R&B and Soul. It is my personal favorite track  from Sam, a song I can relate to and this blog post is going to be the most personal blog I have written yet.
To be honest, I didn't give much attention to Sam Smith until one of my best friends Caleb from Delhi forced me to listen to the #1 smash 'Stay with Me'. I did know he was dubbed as the biggest thing in 2014 by BBC Sound of 2014 poll and he already had a string of hits under his belt including the collaboration with Naughty Boy and Disclosure with the songs 'La La' and 'Latch' respectively. Then I started listening to his songs and I fell in love with the smooth vocals, the way he emotionally connects with the songs he sings and how he gets you into his songs which can only be done by a few artists.
"I'm Not the Only One" is very close to my heart, a very personal song because it is a song which my mom would have written while she was married to my dad who is up in heaven now, every lines connects the emotions that my mom went through in this phase of her life. My dad was a wonderful husband and a great father but he just cannot be faithful to my mom which eventually lead to their divorce leaving us kids in jeopardy. My mom is a supermom who stood firm and she raised four boys by herself, I love her more than my life. When I first heard this song, it was so real that it was unreal, I was on the verge of breaking down and it made me love my mom more imagining what she had gone through.
Sam Smith's vocals is as smooth as it can be, we can feel every word he sings, the emotions and the pain and I am sure that he wrote "I'm Not the Only One" when he was in a very dark place. It tells a story of a person who loves him so much, called him baby  but still went out with someone else. He knew what is going on which was hidden by his partner, he knew he wasn't the only one but he just can't stop loving the person. The end of the song is heartfelt because it shows that the relationship they had was torn up and the person he loved the most had broken down everything he had and went away with Sam's heart leaving him alone.
The music video of the song featured Dianna Agron from Glee and Chris Messina from the Mindy Project, it featured Dianna Agron as the faithful wife in their home who took care of everything while her husband was out with another woman. It showed her drinking away the pain she suffered, burning down her husband's clothes and belongings but in the end welcomed her husband with an open arms smiling at the door. The video brought out the emotions of the song, the pain, the torture and sufferings, the feeling you have when you have an unrequited love, a great video to watch and it suited the song perfectly.
I am in love with this beautiful song, I know "I'm Not the Only One" will not be as big as 'Stay with Me' but it will be in my heart for a long long time to come.

MTV Video Music Awards 2014

Homeless Miley stole the show
MTV Video Music Awards 2014 was held at The Forum in Inglewood, California and the stars lined up for the music video event of the year. As usual, it was a fun filled event, a little less controversial this time (apart from an almost wardrobe malfunction from Nicki Minaj), a few lukewarm performances and some of them rose above the rest. Like every other year, girl power ruled the award show winning all the major awards apart from Best Hip Hop Video (won by Drake) and Best Male Video which doesn't count as far as I know.
The main award 'Video of the year' was won by Miley Cyrus for her record breaking video 'Wrecking Ball' which is a fantastic achievement for a young artist growing up in Disney. Best Female Video went to Katy Perry for 'Dark Horse', Artist to watch which is equivalent to Best New Artist went to Fifth Harmony for 'Miss Movin On', Best Pop Video which is gender mixed went to Ariana Grande for 'Problem' and another gender mixed male oriented category Best Rock Video went to a girl Lorde for 'Royals'. The Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award which is almost equivalent to Lifetime Achievment Award went to Beyonce and she nailed it with a 15 minutes performance, and I left the best for last Ed Sheeran won the Best Male Video for 'Sing'. Ed is someone I have been following before he broke out in the music scene, it made me so happy to see him winning the award considering the other nominees are more prominent figure and all of their songs charted higher than him in the charts.
Amongst the performances, Sam Smith soared above the rest with his rendition of 'Stay With Me', it moved the whole theatre and the voice just silenced everyone. Taylor Swift gave a mediocre performance of 'Shake It Off', Ariana Grande, Jessie J and Nicki Minaj gave a heart pumping performance for their respective singles 'Break Free', 'Anaconda' and 'Bang Bang', Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora turned up the heat with 'Black Widow', Maroon 5 sang a medley of 'Maps' and 'One More Night', 5SOS sang 'Amnesia' and Usher premiered 'She came to give it to you' with Nicki Minaj. The show ended with Beyonce who sang a medley from her last album before receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award from Jay Z and Blue Ivy. One thing I don't understand about Beyonce's performances is that it always looks so organised and planned, it misses on the connection it is suppose to have with the audience, overall Queen Bee still got it after all these years!!
The real winner of the night was Miley Cyrus who sent Jesse, a homeless guy in the streets of LA to collect her Video of the Year Award to raise awareness for My Friends Place who is helping the homeless people who all go to LA for fame and fortune but end up less fortunate. Miley was the talk of VMA last year for all the wrong reasons but this year she turned it upside down with a good deeds which shows her true heart, all I can say is this girl knows how to steal a show more than anyone in the business.
P.S - The best dressed award goes to Jennifer Lopez who looked stunning in a shimmering gold gown.

Taylor Swift - Shake it off

Country princess goes pop and it's sweet as ever!!
Am sure most of my friends who know me will know that I won't write even a single negative word about her and they are damn right on this one. And yes, after the record breaking 'Red Tour', Taylor Swift is back and she doesn't disappoint, the song is called 'Shake it off' which she co-wrote with Max Martin and Shellback who were behind her #1 hit 'We are never ever getting back together', '22' and 'I knew you were trouble' from her last album. The song is released as the lead single from her upcoming album aptly titled '1989' (her birth year) and it has all the ingredients to be a big hit once again for her, it channels 'Mean' and she sings about people who can't stop saying bad things about her.
Taylor Swift is pulling a Beyonce on this one, she gave us 2 hints on her Instagram account about the release of this song and announced it via Yahoo! live stream and premiere the video on sunday night. The song is produced by her co-writers, it is not really her signature sound but she herself stated that '1989' will be her first documented official pop album and it is clear that she is moving towards the pop direction. She sings about the haters and  critics who found everything wrong about her, what they say about her and she expresses what she really feels, she states that there is music in her heart that everything will be alright so she shake it off. Taylor's vocals sounds better than ever, we can sense that it has grown a lot from the Tim McGraw days, she also rap on the hook which I called her best friend and my idol, the Ed Sheeran effect. It is a pop song that will be big in the radio, every kid across the world will love it, it will be in everyone's lip especially after she performs it this Sunday at the VMA's.
The video showed Taylor in different avatars, she recruited her musicians, dancers and her very own swifties, it is a refreshing video and we see a different side of her. It has its criticism that she is a racist in this video which she can just shake, shake , shake it off and we all know she is not even close to being a racist. I just can't wait for the full album when it gets released on October 27, 2014 and billboard has reported the song is likely to debut at #1 next week with a record breaking sales. I've said this before and will say it again, it's good to be a #swiftie

Hilary Duff - Chasing the sun

Lizzie McGuire is back and we are smiling!!
Hilary Duff is back with a new single after five long years, she sounds sweet as sin and the song is surprisingly addictive. Hilary is the pioneer for the Disney kids, she is the one who started it all, from being a child star on the telly to becoming a bonafide superstar. She is the one who started from being a star in a Disney show and went on to star in big budget movies, selling out arenas and selling tons of records, we can say that she paved the way for the upcoming superstars like Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Ariana Grande, even the Jonas Brothers and a whole lot more.

Anyone who knows me or read my blog will know that I love Ed Sheeran, when I saw the picture of him and Hilary inside a studio, I know something good is in store and shortly after that Hilary stated that she signed a new record deal with RCA records and will be releasing a new single shortly and an album after. I was curious about the music she will release because I know she has mixed up a lot in the noughties, her debut 'Metamorphosis' sounds very different comparing to her last album 'Dignity'. I bought it straightaway on Itunes as soon as the song got released earlier this week, let me tell you, I wasn't disapppointed at all, I was enjoying the song right from the first line to the very end and the video is equally amazing, funny, humorous and something I do all the time at work myself (daydreaming).
The song 'Chasing the sun' was written by Colbie Caillat, Jason Reeves and Toby Gad, it was produced by the latter whose work I adore including 'Who you are' by Jessie J and recently 'All of me' by John Legend. Hilary sounds breezy, easy to the ears and this song shows the mature side of her without abandoning her roots as a peppy pop singer she was at the early 2000's. There is not much of a vocal on the song but then she was never known for her vocals, it is easy to listen to and the more you listen to it, you will love, it is a song that you would love to hear in a car singing along with your best friends. As much as I love the song, I honestly don't think it is an ideal comeback song but its Hilary and she knows how to make it work all the time. I do hope it makes a much needed impact on the charts for her and looking forward to the second single before the album gets release this fall especially the song she wrote with Ed.

All about Wendy Williams!!

Why do I love Wendy??
I have heard about Wendy Williams for a long time, I have never really paid attention to her as much even though I love watching talk shows and reality TV. I got to know her late last year watching the previous episodes of the Wendy Williams Show and when season 5 kicked in, I was in full swing, I can honestly say that I watched each and every single episode through her Youtube channel as her show is yet to be broadcasted in India. Wendy turned 50 last friday and Season 5 wrapped up yesterday so here I am paying tribute to my favorite female talk show host and at the same time waiting for September when season 6 will return.
My blog is not a hate blog but I might have to strike a few shades in today's update which is not surprising because we are going to talk about Wendy, why I love her and what make her stand out? If I have to describe Wendy in one word, I would definitely say 'Unfiltered', this is one of the reason why I watch the show everyday. When I compare her with her peers on daytime TV, I love Ellen but she is so nice to everyone and their mother, I know for a fact that a normal person cannot be in love with everyone. I find the Queen Latifah's show super boring and I can barely watch it for 10 minutes, Bethenney Frankel is equally unfiltered but she is unfiltered sexually and in a very nasty way which can come across as completely gross. Watching a grown woman holding a sex toy or talking about sexual positions on daytime TV is not really entertaining and her show did get cancelled. I can go from Dr.Phil to Dr. Drew, the View to the Talk but when it comes to Wendy, none of them come close to her, she is beautiful, talented and she knows how to work a crowd.
Wendy is a true example of rags to riches story, she never hides the fact that she had a substance abuse issue growing up, she started from the bottom and she made herself where she is right now. The Wendy Williams shows has celebrity guest, chefs coming to her show, designers talking about fashion, she giveaway holidays and she does makeover for her Wendy watchers. There are three popular segments, first is 'Ask Wendy' where the studio audience randomly asks her questions which she answers them at the spot, then 'Hot Talk' where she and her panel discuss about celebrities, current events, politics, all the what nots and then come the most popular part of the show 'Hot Topics'. In 'Hot Topics', Wendy dishes about celebrities and their lives, she voices her opinion like no other and give her audience an unfiltered view on what she thinks, and this segment takes normally 20 minutes of her show. For a show that runs normally between 40-45 minutes without advertisements, its clear that "Hot Topics' is the heart of the show.
I love Wendy for all she is, unfiltered, she shows her emotions and she cries when she has her period, she shares her life and what show she watches, she calls her audience her co-host, she loves us for watching her show and thank us everyday. I am looking forward to season 6 when it arrives in September and here is the last #hottopics from season 5 and thank you all for reading.

A Homeboy's Life!!

Where have I been??
I haven't updated my blog for a long time, am asking myself why am I not updating my blog which is very close to my heart, for a long time? I have been all over the place really, I was going through a rough patch in my life which I am still facing but now I am picking up the pieces for a new beginning. Everything in life is not perfect and at some point, we have to face it whether we like it or not, the promotion I got from my workplace got cancelled abruptly, I need to switch jobs (pic. courtesy of my farewell) and have to start all over again, I had a fallout with one of my best friends, I didn't get a pay and I was actually in a dark place with sleepless nights. But now it's time to talk about the good stuff and life is not always bad and sometimes we need to go through pain to experience joy.
During my absence, I watched a few movies and the movie that I really loved was The Fault in our Stars, I cried a river the day I watched it, in fact, the whole audience was in tears, I remember staring at the girl who was crying so hard even after the movie ended and she was consoled by her friends. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes took me by surprise and it was surprisingly a wonderful movie not because of the actions and the cinematography which was expected but the story, the story of the movie was incredible and it touched me with the love based on family and friends. And also referring to the picture above which I took with my best friend Jane on the day we watched Transformers 4: Age of Extinction. That was really entertaining and Jane enjoyed it more than everyone else in the theater.
I can't forget the music part, most importantly because my blog is a music blog and I know there are lots of new singles and albums that I love but I am going to talk only about my hero Ed Sheeran. Ed Sheeran's X is the best album that have come out this year and I am sure there will be no better album this year, at least, according to me. All the songs are great starting from 'One' till the end of the bonus track 'I See Fire', my personal favorite has to be 'Thinking Out Loud' which is the most touching song on the album. All in all, Ed Sheeran is more aggressive on this album than he was in his debut album and he sounds amazing as ever, no songs to skip and am glad and thankful for Itunes , I got the album ten minutes after it got released three and half weeks ago. It is still #1 in the UK and this album is his first #1 in the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It is a must have for everyone and I just love Ed Sheeran for his artistry and his musical talent and I wish him well on his upcoming singles and  his upcoming tour.
Am back in my blog, cheers to life and I love each one of you who reads my blog with all its perfect imperfections, it means a lot to me everytime.

Alex & Sierra - Scarecrow

The Coolest Song of the Summer
Alex & Sierra were one of my favorite reality show stars popping out of our TV last year along with Taylor Henderson  from the Australian X-Factor. Taylor has an album out already so it's been a long time coming waiting for their music and it sure doesn't disappoint a bit. Scarecrow hasn't been commercially released yet but after teasing us for a long time, they finally released the lyric video 2 days ago and it has been stuck in my head since, no writer(s) or producer(s) of the song hasn't been published yet but am sure they are a good team for their forthcoming album (fans of Melanie Amaro will know what I meant because she got ruined by the same).
Scarecrow is a folk infused, beautiful indie pop ballad with enough pop sensibilities to rule over the top 40, and it has an infectious chorus with an easy sing-a-long tune that will be great for a live performance. They showed on this track why exactly they won the singing competition and why they won over the hearts of America, topping the votes count every single week during their time on the X-Factor. Their vocals are fresh and amazing, easy to the ears and their harmonies are out of this world making Scarecrow a stunning song and I think it is the right time for songs like this when we see Bastille, Passenger, Ed Sheeran, Lorde and the Common Linnets ruling the charts across the world.
This song is too cute and good and the lyric video portraying themselves as a puppet is equally amazing, I can't wait for their debut album and seeing them impacting the charts with this song when it gets officially released on the radio, itunes and of course, its official video. Will it be a big hit?? I hope so....

Paloma Faith - Only Love Can Hurt Like This

The second single from ' A Perfect Contradiction'
Only Love Can Hurt Like This is the second single taken off from the third album of Paloma Faith's A Perfect Contradiction and it is a song of the moment for me. I have always been a fan of Paloma ever since I got to know her, her voice captivates me and her music is rare yet mainstream which appeal to a wider audience. Only love can hurt like this has become her highest charting single ever in UK (her home country) peaking at #6 surpassing the amazing song Picking up the pieces which peaked at #7 and I am glad that she finally has a breakthrough because this song hasn't left the top for 3 weeks now.
Only love can hurt like this first premiered on the Blackberry Fashion Show back in February 2014 before it was released as a single and it makes waves all over the place. The song is written by Diane Warren who has written songs for the likes of Cher, Celine Dion, Britney Spears and many other prominent artists that we know, this is the first time in Paloma's career that she has sung a song written by other songwriters because she writes all her songs herself.
The song is a depressing song which normally works almost all the time, she sings about wanting a lover so much but the feelings are not mutual and she always ends up getting tortured feeling the pain which love can only give. Paloma sounded like she meant every word she sang, she put you in the song and you can actually feel the pain and the agony she has in her soul, this is a rare feat that can be done only by singers like her. When she hits the high note, all you wanted to do is take a tissue and think about unrequited love that you had but you never wanted her to stop singing. This song is a masterpiece and am already thinking Song of the Year come Brit awards 2015.

The Common Linnets - Calm After the Storm

Eurovision 2014 - My View

This year's Eurovision song contest was the most talked about Eurovision contest for a very long time, I was waiting for a while to write about it because I was waiting for the impact it has on the charts which takes a week after the show is over. I follow this show every year even though I never really pay attention to who won or who is in the running even though I love that song 'Euphoria' by Loreen who won the show in 2012. This year, it was a different story, I was immensely in love with song 'Calm after the storm' by the Common Linnets, a Dutch band and 'Shine' by the Tolmachevy Sisters from Russia and they both finished at #2 and #7 respectively. Lets take a look at the official music video of the Common Linnets first and then I will discuss why they are the real winners of this year's Eurovision showdown.

I mentioned above why I waited to update my review and yes its the charts which reflects who people will go out and buy your music rather than just enjoy watching you doing your thing on TV. Calm after the storm debuted at #9 on the UK charts and their self titled album debuted at #39 which means it cracked the top 40 on one of the most difficult charts to crack in the world. On the other hand, the winner of the Eurovision 2014 Miss Conchita Wurst song 'Rise like a Phoenix' debuted way below at #17 and failed to make an impact elsewhere, the winner of 2012 Loreen made it till #3 with Euphoria but they are very much commercial in their sound comparing to the Common Linnets. Please check the winner's song below and see which one do you think is better?

The Common Linnets caught me off guard this year with their sound, the American Folk Country, Bluegrass and Pop and this song sounds like something Johny Cash or Bob Dylan will record in their hey days. I went and checked their Wikipedia page and got to know that this group was formed by two friends who have known each other for a long time musically for this years's Eurovision and the pairing is like bread and butter and I do hope they stay together and make some good music and I wish them all the success in the world a boy can give.
Before I wrap up today's blog I want to let you know about this Tolmachevy Sisters from Russia with their song 'Shine' , it is amazing and with all the boos they received they still managed to finished at the seventh position which is a great feat (the UK girl Molly finished at #17).

Lily Allen - Sheezus

Album of the Moment
Lily Allen's new album Sheezus is one of the most anticipated album of the year, she has been away for 4 years and it can be considered as a comeback album. I love Lily and her super witty lyrics, her music which is mainstream yet very distinct in its sound and yes the new album didn't disappoint me at all.
Prior to the release of this album, Lily has put out 4 official singles and 1 promotional single, out of which 3 of them reached the top ten and includes the 3 weeks #1, her cover of Keane's Somewhere Only We Know, Hard Out Here and Air Balloon reached #9 and #7 respectively, Our Time failed and tanked at #43 and Sheezus only being released as a promotional single with the video. On the first listen to the album, it is obvious that it is the same team who worked on her two previous albums who were working on this same album and there are no big differences between her previous work and this new album.

Overall, I can say that Sheezus is a very easy listening album much like her previous ones, all the songs reflects to her previous works especially Insincerely Yours which is pretty much like 22 and there are not much songs that I actually wanted to skip. She sings about the society, her husband, sexism and love in general, I do expect a lot more from her after going incognito for such a long time but I won't say its a bad album at all though.
Looking at the charts it did debut at #1 on the UK Albums Chart ending 3 weeks reign of Paolo Nutini's Caustic Love but when we look at the sales figure it is not even one third of what Its Not Me, Its You sold in its first week, so, with the Ellie Goulding's, the Rita Ora's, the Jessie J's coming onto the scene while she is away, its obvious that she has lost her steam but not completely. I wish her all the best for this album hoping that it has longetivity which her previous two albums have having sold more than a million copies in the UK because we all know,
' Second best will never cut it for the Divas'

Katy Perry - Birthday

The fourth single from 'Prism'
I was so busy lately so i haven't update my blog for quite sometime now which i would like to apologize to all my readers but now am back and yes lets talk about the queen of the moment 'Katy'. On the verge of the official music video going to get released tomorrow, lets celebrate the song 'Birthday' and I have a teaser here for you first before we get to the song.

When I first heard the album Prism, I loved almost all the tracks but there are two tracks that stood out for me and one of them is Birthday. I was hooked to the song so much that I put it on repeat for two days and the song was written by the same team who are responsible for the success of the album Teenage Dream, namely Katy Perry herself, Bonnie Mckee, Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Cirkut and produced by the latter three. Katy stated that this song is inspired by Mariah Carey's song of the nineties and something that she will put on her album, I do not find much similarities and I find it quite similar to her previous works. This is a good thing because sometimes when artist moved away from a sound that defines them, it can be a recipe of disaster and I think Birthday can be in any of her album from One of the Boys, Teenage Dream to Prism. I do have the lyric video below and please do checkout the wicked sexual metaphors she uses.

This song is fantastic and it has all the recipes and the icings to be Katy Perry's next #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart which will be her tenth one, and I didn't mention my other favorite song of Prism above so I gotta tell ya it is  This Moment. Here's to me wishing Katy all the best on her new single and yes I am hoping the fifth single should be This Moment...

Ed Sheeran - SING

Ed Sheeran is Back with a New Single!!
Ed Sheeran is back with his lead single from his forth coming much awaited sophomore album 'X' and there is no one else in the world who will be happier than me. Ed has been the top male artist for me for the past 3 years now and my heart broke when he lost the Best New Artist Category at the Grammy's this year. I have been listening to his debut album '+' for 3 years now and have never get enough of it, and I love all the album cuts out of that album.

Sing is the most commercial single that Ed has ever done and it sounds a little bit like You Need Me, I Don't Need You from the album '+'. Ed stated that this song is inspired by the songs from Justin Timberlake's albums Justified and Futuresex/Lovesounds, it sounds a little obvious and we don't have to be told that it is produced by Pharell Williams. Maybe because am too much of a fan of his, I really wish that he has a different song out and I do hope that the next single will be as good as Lego House.
Yes this song doesn't give me the same chills that I got when I first heard The A Team but it is still on repeat and I am sure it will grow on me. Knowing Ed even before he breakout in the UK, not to say the rest of the world and being an avid follower of his, I am so happy he receives the recognition that he deserves. When I saw his picture on the cover of Billboard Magazine, I know he has arrived and he is here to stay and I can't wait for 'X' ( Am yet to know if it is the letter X or the multiplication sign X aka into much like +).

Anastacia - Stupid Little Things

Hot New Song - Anastacia is Back
Anastacia is a survivor, she has survived a lot of hardships which includes being diagnosed with breast cancer twice. The last time when this happened she came up with this wonderful song Left Outside Alone which is my personal favorite song of hers and this proved to be a big hit topping the Billboard Hot 100 European charts for 15 weeks. Now she is back the second time around after overcoming breast cancer again, and she sounds as fresh as ever and her second innings this time around will be better than ever.

Stupid little things is the lead single for Anastacia's upcoming album Resurrection which is due to be released on the 5th of May, 2014 and this single will get released on April 4, 2014. The song starts with an amazing beats, very Kanye West kind of song and her vocals soared from the first line of the song, her distinct voice which actually got her into trouble before she got her recording contract sounds better than ever. This song is very addictive and by the time she sings the bridge on the song and get back to the chorus, you can't help but sing along, and you just can't get it out of your head.
The song did sound quite similar with her previous work starting from I'm Outta Love and the bridge is very similar to the bridge of the song I mentioned above Left Outside Alone. So, if you're looking for a fresh new sound of Anastacia, you might be a little bit disappointed but those of you who love her from day one, the authentic and distinct music of hers, you will love it and yes I love this song. Here is the link for the song , please check out and yes, Anastacia is back in the game for your pleasure

WWE Total Divas is back with Season 2 on E!

And its hotter and spicier than ever....

I am a big fan of WWE ever since it was WWF ,when I thought the fight is real, and I am a reality show kind of person. So for me, it was a match made in heaven when WWE and E! network announced their collaboration last year that they were working on a reality show together following the lives of six divas in and out of the ring. I followed the first season religiously and i loved the show very much that i actually watched each of the episodes more than once and it was a breakout reality hit show last year.
This season, there is a little shake up on the cast, the most boring diva last season Jojo is now replaced by my favorite rookie last year Summer Rae. Apart from this, the cast are still the same along with their boyfriends the Bella Twins, Natalya, the Funkadactyls and the super hot Eva Marie, it started off with a bang with a riff between Nattie and Summer and the drama unfolds one by one.
First, we saw Eva eloped and got married to Jonathan without her parents approval ( her parents didn't approve their relationship last season )and as the episode goes, we saw the screaming dad once again who can't accept the fact that her little girl is married now. Then, another surprise Nikki Bella has broken up with her boyfriend the superstar John Cena and she is currently going through the pain of seeing her ex-boyfriend at work, after the end of season one she had moved out from John's apartment and is now living in her mom's condo with her mom. At the end of the episode, we saw John standing on the sea side with flowers in his hand and we can only wait what went down in the next episode.
Apart from these two main storylines, we also saw Brie and Daniel shopping around for their wedding, Nattie is having a little bit too much and was getting a bit close to Cameron's boyfriend Vinnie, this ends up really fuuny because their fight caught the eye of a cop who threatened to lock them up in a jail. At the end of the episode, they showed a clip of whats brewing in season two and I can't wait for all the drama that will happen especially when Summer slap the daylight out of Nattie, the wedding of Jon and Naomi and all of them(LOL). Here is the Season 1 Episode 1 of Total Divas, do watch it, i am in love with it and am sure you will too

Lindsay Lohan and her 36 Hook Ups!!

The kiss and tell story of Lindsay Lohan
As soon as I reached home from work this morning, i came across a breaking news that's music to my ears, Lindsay Lohan has written down 36 A Listers that she has slept with and  left it in her room at the Beverley Hills Hotel. In Touch Weekly has got the copy of it and they are going to expose it week after week. We all have those nights when we have a get together with friends, talk about our awesome and not so awesome exes, make fun of them, remembering the good times and the bad times but for Lindsay being Lindsay she forgot to trash it, the housekeeping personnel got hold of it and sold it to In Touch.
Currently there are 18 names that are being exposed and the rest are going to be exposed in their coming issues and please have a look at the original paper that was left in the hotel, am a little amused that she knows how to write
If we look at the list, all of them are actually relevant and am sure sure there will be a lot of girls who would like to be in her shoes. The only thing that surprised me though is Justin Timberlake, i didn't see this coming at all but then again its Hollywood where everyone is a player player and everybody would like to have some fun one way or the other.
I do not think that Lindsay has done anything wrong, but what i refuse to understand is the privacy policy of the Beverley Hills Hotel. Being a part of the hotel industry, one of the main priorities that we have for our guests is their privacy, the guest paid for the room and what happen in their room has to stay in the room, it shows that the hotel is not safe for guests and they will have to watch out for anything and everything they do.
I am not going to judge on Lindsay this time because she is 27 now and i know for a fact a nobody from this city would have bedded more than 36 nobodies here in the same city. I just want her to watch out because there are shameless cannibals out there who is trying to milk on her fame and the mistakes she has done all through the years, I personally love her for her talent and I can't wait for Mean Girls 2.
On the hindsight, it can also be a publicity stunt from her with a little help from In Touch and the Hotel itself, we all know that she has a new docu-series named Lindsay airing on OWN every sunday at 10 pm. Here is a throwback picture of her from Parent Trap, the movie we first met and fell in love with the cute little Linday Lohan.

Boyzone - No Matter What
The other day, my colleague and i were singing this song in the office, then it has been stucked in my mind ever since. I know this song is not as it sounds like, all sweet and sugary with Stephen's vocals but when you listen to it very closely to the lyrics, it is a very angry song and not at all how it sounds like.
This song No Matter What is the biggest selling single and the only hit of Boyzone to be popular in the United States, it peaked at #1 in the UK Singles chart selling 1.13 million and another 3 million copies worldwide. It is written by Andrew Llyod Webber and Jim Steinman for the 1996 musical play Whistle Down the Wind, and covered and popularized by Boyzone. It is the fourth single from Boyzone's album Where We Belong, the success of this song brought the parent album back to #1 after hiatus of 4 months since debuting at #1 on the UK Albums Chart.
No Matter What  has never been my favorite song of Boyzone but over the time, i find out that it actually doesn't sound bad at all. Being a fan of Ronan Keating  ever since Love Me for a Reason, i love the smoothy vocals of him harmonizing  with the late Stephen Gately's  breezy vocals, when i watch them performing this song without him, it makes me emotional many times. This song is an evergreen song will go down in history as one of the biggest hit by a boyband and please check the link below to know why :

Cheryl Cole is back on the X Factor!!

Bad News or Good News??
This morning, as soon as I woke up I saw Cheryl Cole's update on Twitter that she is going to be back on the X Factor this year, I screeched out of my bed. I don't like the idea of her back on the show at and this is not just hating but i have my reasons why I want her to say goodbye to the show forever.
When Cheryl was on the show between 2008-2010 she was the darling of the show and was sitted next to Simon Cowell, then her popularity decreased as Danii took over the show and actually won it twice and won the poll on UK's favorite X Factor Judge. That's when Simon stepped up and moved her across the Atlantic as a judge on the X Factor USA which has now been scrapped, she ventured into a land where people mistook her for Sheryl Crow and the contestants didn't know her name and barely understood her. She was fired from the show only to be replaced by Nicole who was supposed to be the co-host of the show, then the bad press came in, a riff between her and Simon and she went incognito for a very long time.
Then She went into the studio and released the album Under the Sun only to be beaten by Justin Bieber on the charts even though Call My Name has proven to be another smash hit for her, and then came the Girls Aloud reunion. The Girls Aloud reunion was supposed to be the reunion of the year and they managed to get all the slots in every important gig throughout the year including bagging the Children in Need official single but it failed to create ripples and both the album and the two singles flopped (even though the I love the song Beautiful 'cause you love me).

Now its only the right time for her to go back to the X Factor because she doesn't have a job in hand but I call it a desperate attempt to stay relevant. Call up Jennifer Lopez who is back after a hiatus on American Idol and learn your lesson girl, she is now sinking with the Idol ship on the lowest rated American Idol season ever. If you ever think of calling up someone to revive your career, call up your ex-husband Ashley Cole instead of Simon Cowell, am sure he will be more than happy to help you, after all he is the one who is responsible for you being more popular than the rest of the girls in Girls Aloud, Ashley even let you keep your last name when you should be back to Tweedy 3 years ago. Anyway am wishing you Cheryl Cole all the best and hope its third time lucky for you on the X Factor.

The Three Breakout Stars from the Oscars 2014!!

Edgar The Pizza Guy
The pizza guy co-owned the Big Mamma's and Papa's Pizzeria in Hollywood with his brother. When Ellen looked for a pizza for the show, they happened to be the nearest pizzeria nearby the Dolby theatre, and he never knew that he was going to be on stage at the Oscar's. He loves Julia Roberts and in his words it was a dream come true for him especially being from Russia struggling to make a living in America. And now, he is all over the place including the Ellen Show and everyone's talking about him.

Peter Nyong'o
When you look at Ellen's selfie that happened on the Oscar night, there is a person in everyone's head, who is that guy smiling in the right, i haven't seen him anywhere and why is he there? Yes, that little boy is a freshman college student in Florida who happen to be the little brother of the Best Supporting Actress winner Lupita Nyong'o who goes by the name of Peter Nyong'o. Digging deeper into the story, he happened to take a selfie from almost all the stars that night and its amazing how an unknown boy from Kenya stole the limelight from all the A-Listers in Hollywood.

Liza Minelli
Everyone knows Liza Minelli and it is kind of stupid to put her as the last musketeer on this list but as we well know, she hasn't been in the news lately and yes the Oscar night was her night for all the wrong reasons.
First, it was her attire on the red carpet which is the weirdest of the weird, then came the drag queen jokes from Ellen and her hugging Lupita as if they have known each other for life when she won the statuette. And the biggest one is someone from the audience taking a picture from the back of her trying to be in the picture when Ellen took the famous selfie, and yes Liza is back in the headlines and she created more splash than Cate Blanchett who won the Best Actress category. Go Girl, More Power to Yaaaa!!

P.S. John Travolta is not worth mentioning here because he ruined the big night of Idina Menzel, his act was stupid and idiotic and it will go down in history as one of the most bizarre thing that happened at the Oscars.

Is Leonardo Dicaprio Snubbed From the Oscars??

My Thoughts

I know this is coming and as much as i love Leo,i have a feeling that he is not going to be the one Jennifer Lawrence called out for the Best Actor trophy yet again this year. And yes i was correct, it was Matthew who walked away with the trophy last Sunday night.

And if you are going to ask me if Leo is snubbed from the Oscars, my answer to you will be NO, and am going to tell you why :-

Firstly, when you watch both the movies, as much as they are male driven performance oriented movie, you can feel the emotions of Ron Woodroof more than Jordan Belfort.

Secondly, Leo's movie deals with gambling, sex, drugs and shows the perks while Matthew's movie is sex, drugs and rock and roll but shows the other side of it (HIV)

Thirdly, as much as both the movies are biographies, the subject they dealt is so much different and Dallas Buyers Club is much more sensitive comparing to The Wolf of Wall Street which the Oscars love.

Lastly, both the actors are great but Matthew simply did a better job than Leo in a movie which requires so much for him to do,  get skinny as hell,  not a big budget commercial movie, shot in 25 days and they were looking for a distributor.

And yes movie wise, The Wolf is my much more entertaining and directed by a well known Director but in my opinion i believe Matthew and Jared compliment each other so well comparing the more than annoying Jonah in that movie even though they both got an Oscar nod in their respective categories, and yes they both win.

My suggestions to Leo, do a serious role , lose some weight or gain a lot of weight, get out of a Scorsese's movie and venture into something less commercial and one fine day, your time will come to say your acceptance speech in the big stage.
We love you and we want you to win the Oscar more than you want!!

Gina G - Ti Amo

Before Rihanna has Te Amo, there was an Australian Pop Singer named Gina G who released this song Ti Amo taken from her debut album Fresh! on the 26th May 1997 and this song peaked at #1 in Lebanon and a moderate success across the world. Hot on the success of Ohhh Ahhh..... Just a little bit  and representing UK on Eurovison Song Contest in 1996, Gina G was the IT Girl back then and she is one of the few Australian singers who cracked the US mainstream charts.
One of the highlights of Gina G's career is the album art of her debut album Fresh! which was shot by David la Chapelle and she was covered in chocolates. the Gen-X might not really understand this was a big news but things were so different back in the 90's and you don't really need to stick your tongue out to grab attention.

And this song Ti Amo is the song i used to listened to a lot, i still remember, i used to have this album called Now! which is  a collection of hits, it was in Side A track #8 which means it was the last track on the cassette. It was my favorite track and yes i used to rewind the song a lot, i believe this is one of the evergreen song that i will keep jamming to and am yet to find out what Ti Amo means even though i believe it is I Love You... Hehe :)
The beats of this song is quite similar to Jennifer Lopez Aint it funny and yeah, we all know how she loves ripping off other people's song, please check out the song and see for yourself.
