Katy Perry - Birthday

The fourth single from 'Prism'
I was so busy lately so i haven't update my blog for quite sometime now which i would like to apologize to all my readers but now am back and yes lets talk about the queen of the moment 'Katy'. On the verge of the official music video going to get released tomorrow, lets celebrate the song 'Birthday' and I have a teaser here for you first before we get to the song.

When I first heard the album Prism, I loved almost all the tracks but there are two tracks that stood out for me and one of them is Birthday. I was hooked to the song so much that I put it on repeat for two days and the song was written by the same team who are responsible for the success of the album Teenage Dream, namely Katy Perry herself, Bonnie Mckee, Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Cirkut and produced by the latter three. Katy stated that this song is inspired by Mariah Carey's song of the nineties and something that she will put on her album, I do not find much similarities and I find it quite similar to her previous works. This is a good thing because sometimes when artist moved away from a sound that defines them, it can be a recipe of disaster and I think Birthday can be in any of her album from One of the Boys, Teenage Dream to Prism. I do have the lyric video below and please do checkout the wicked sexual metaphors she uses.

This song is fantastic and it has all the recipes and the icings to be Katy Perry's next #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart which will be her tenth one, and I didn't mention my other favorite song of Prism above so I gotta tell ya it is  This Moment. Here's to me wishing Katy all the best on her new single and yes I am hoping the fifth single should be This Moment...

Ed Sheeran - SING

Ed Sheeran is Back with a New Single!!
Ed Sheeran is back with his lead single from his forth coming much awaited sophomore album 'X' and there is no one else in the world who will be happier than me. Ed has been the top male artist for me for the past 3 years now and my heart broke when he lost the Best New Artist Category at the Grammy's this year. I have been listening to his debut album '+' for 3 years now and have never get enough of it, and I love all the album cuts out of that album.

Sing is the most commercial single that Ed has ever done and it sounds a little bit like You Need Me, I Don't Need You from the album '+'. Ed stated that this song is inspired by the songs from Justin Timberlake's albums Justified and Futuresex/Lovesounds, it sounds a little obvious and we don't have to be told that it is produced by Pharell Williams. Maybe because am too much of a fan of his, I really wish that he has a different song out and I do hope that the next single will be as good as Lego House.
Yes this song doesn't give me the same chills that I got when I first heard The A Team but it is still on repeat and I am sure it will grow on me. Knowing Ed even before he breakout in the UK, not to say the rest of the world and being an avid follower of his, I am so happy he receives the recognition that he deserves. When I saw his picture on the cover of Billboard Magazine, I know he has arrived and he is here to stay and I can't wait for 'X' ( Am yet to know if it is the letter X or the multiplication sign X aka into much like +).
